Fundraising

Like all Scout Groups, we wouldn’t be able to function without the generosity of those who support our fundraising events.  Having said that, fundraising isn’t just about financial donations, we can help our funds by receiving donations, some of which are material, others in terms of time given at no cost.

We won’t list those who have given time at no cost, but our financial side of fundraising activities has recently included:

  • A Coffee Morning – see below
  • A Race Night, which was extremely well supported, and
  • A Scout Post in December 2021 (also in December 2020 and 2019) all of which were well supported.

Proceeds from the Race Night were for our funds; what we raise from the Scout Post is given to charities.  The Explorer section did all the work with the Scout Post, so many thanks to them for organising and sorting the post and, of course, trudging round the streets of Renfrew to ensure deliveries arrived well in time for Christmas.  All funds we raise at any events which are not donated to charity are retained by the Group.

We didn’t do any fundraising in 2021/2022 as were too busy with our Centenary, but we restarted in January 2023.

  • Coffee Morning – January 2023January 2023 saw the return of the Coffee Morning.  We had a very busy morning serving coffee, tea, biscuits, rolls and sausage/bacon/egg (or a roll with all 3 for those who wished).  The Leaders, Explorers and Scouts who came along to help did an outstanding job keeping our supporters plied with tea, coffee and biscuits, while others cooked the fillings for the rolls.  We then had the background staff who did the clearing up, washing up and tidying, and of course those who made the tea and coffee.  For the last task we all mucked in to clean the tables, then swept and mopped the floor.  Click here for a few pictures.

We were delighted by the support we received and send sincere thanks to everyone who contributed and those who came along.  As a result of your generosity and support, we’re delighted to have raised £320.00.

We’re always extremely grateful to everyone who supports us, either financially, materially or with their time.  With that in mind, please visit our Thank You Wall to see  our thanks for the support we have received since 2019.
