Cubs

Cubs

Welcome to the Cub page!

You’re perhaps not sure about what Cubs do, so here’s some of what we get up to
(although there’s lots more):

  • We learn new skills
  • Do badgework
  • Go camping (indoors, and outdoors under canvas)
  • Make things (tasty items and craft ones too)
  • Have visits from the Fire and the Police Services
  • Go on visits ourselves
  • Make new friends and learn to work in teams

What’s not to like about that?
Are you interested in coming along?  If so, here’s some information which will help:

  • Cubs are for young people aged 8 to 10½
  • We meet on Tuesday nights from 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm in Trinity Church halls
  • Sometimes we meet outside the halls, but you’ll always be advised of that.
  • Cub Welcome Pack:  I’ve been taken away on holiday to be updated – will be back soon!
  • Cub Badge Poster:    Cub-Scout-Badge-Poster-A3_pre-1

That’s all the serious information, now on to the fun stuff which shows what what’s going on and what we’ve been up to.

January to June 2025

Here’s a flavour of some of what we’ll be doing this session:

  • Australia Night
  • Burns Night
  • Itallian Night
  • Recognising ‘International Tall Tales Day’
  • Pancakes – always a favourite, especially chocolate and strawberries!
  • Book Reader Badge
  • Easter Crafts
  • Cyclist Badge
  • Water Activities
  • Disability Awareness
  • Games Nights, although we play a game or two every night

We’re also taking part in the Cub District Sleepover at the Science Centre.  Sleepovers are always great fun.

Here’s what we did in the last session:

September to December 2024

  • Games nights
  • Personal Safety (999)
  • Pirate night
  • Air Activities nights
  • Among Us
  • Hallowe’en
  • Smores & Sparklers
  • Christmas crafts
  • Christmas outing

We also had our November weekend camp at Lapwing Lodge in Paisley.

You’ll see there’s lots going on at 2nd Renfrew Cubs.  If you’d like to give us a try, we’ll be delighted to see you, so come along or get in touch with us at 2ndrenfrewtrinityscoutgroup@gmail.com.
